REACH International
Studying abroad can be both an exciting and bewildering experience at times! Each year over 2,000 international students, visiting scholars, and their families make Athens their temporary home while attending The University of Georgia. Our church’s program, REACH International, seeks to create a welcoming environment that provides opportunities for scholars and their families to become better acclimated to American culture, to experience Christian hospitality through regular social events, and to learn more about the Christian faith while they are here.
Our desire is to encourage mutual dialogue as summed up in the words of the Bible: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have, but do this with gentleness and respect.” We also seek to “love our neighbors as ourselves” as we strive to treat others in the same way we would hope to be treated when visiting their homelands! All our activities are open to international students, scholars, and their families regardless of race, nationality, or religious preference. We serve undergraduate and graduate students, as well as visiting scholars.
